I called on Tim Sheppard. He informed me that he was promoted to janitor (President) and he introduced me to Joe Sharp (Director pf Procurement) whom he wants me to work with. He also had Mark Deem the fresh fruit buyer of cherries in attendance. Tim indicated that he would attend future meetings if his schedule allowed.
I presented our entire 2015 program and we discussed the timing of our early crop. We also discussed organic cherries and packaging possibilities. They are looking for a bagged organic red and Rainier cherry that has the "pop" of the new cherry bags. Joe will keep in contact with me for more crop info and want all of the updates we can provide. Cherries did very well for them last year and they want to keep the sales going. They will take advantage of the Washington State apricot crop as their customers feel there are a lot of sales potential in them.
