I met with Dereck Nelson. He was nice enough to give me a 6:30 A.M. appointment due to an airline schedule mishap. Dereck is new to this position in the last 6 months. We introduced ourselves and our backgrounds. Dereck has had a lot of retail produce background and is now supported by Ross Davis. He was very interested in our presentation as they are a higher end chain that features extremely high quality produce. They want to continue using 9 row cherries as they have in the past. As they do not use newspapers for advertising, they cannot fulfill ads that way, but they do run in-store ads for their promoting. We discussed how we can work together to make that happen. We also discussed apricots and creative ways to promote them. He wants all of the info that I can send him as the season progresses.
