Met with General Manager Dave Peden. Dave said that he was disappointed that he never received his payment for participating last year, and didn't know why. Dave said that they sell 40-50K per week per store in cherries, and use them as a loss leader because of the quality of customer it brings into the store. They prefer 9.5row or larger, but are thinking of even carrying 2 sizes with 2 different price points might generate even more sales. They like both dark sweet and Rainiers. Dave asked about contract pricing and I reminded him that I do not sell cherries and have nothing to do with the pricing. He said that he knew that, but was wondering if I had done any contract pricing in the past with my customers. I told him that under very strictly defined conditions that I had.
Check on payout in August. Had difficulty last year and never received payment. Followed up with Cheryl.
Stew Leonard stores are also in Yonkers, Danberry, CT, and the Newington/Hartford area. Stemilt is his main supplier.
