I met with Ed Osowski for nearly 2 hours. We covered everything about the 2013 cherry and apricot crop. Ed showed me details of merchandising plans and other Martins' program. He indicated that his organic sales have grown at a brisk pace and he may like to do some large organic cherry promotion over and above his planned cherry promotions. He hopes that shippers do not put a lot of excess fruit on the Chicago Market and destroy the pricing integrity of the Market Place. He has ordered materials to assist his sales' plans. He is also planning a huge promotion with Jubilee apricots and may ask for a little extra support as they will be doing, sampling, T.V. and radio promotions.
