The meeting was with Larry Schmidt, Produce Merchandiser, Albertsons. They are operating 200 stores in the Inter Mountain Division. They have done some shifting of supplying stores including using the Billings Supervalu warehouse to supply Albertsons? Billings and taking on additional outside accounts to be supplied out of the Albertsons warehouse in Portland.. They had a good year on Northwest cherries and soft fruit last year and plan to continue the buy local campaign. He would like to come up with a buy local entry banner for their Inter Mountain stores featuring Bing and Rainier cherries. This display piece would ideally feature local growers and show a cherry background. We will submit details for his approval and possible implementation. They have not added stores this past year. They have improved their debt position and business continues steady. We will present a final ad incentive program for cherries and apricots closer to the season
