Susie was excited about upcoming season.  She didn’t have a lot information on California cherries and said they don’t provide a lot of updates.  She actually ranked Chilean cherries ahead of California cherries, because of their consistency.  She said California is running late and you probably won’t see ads until Memorial Day.  She thinks there will be overlap this season with California, but want to start promoting Northwest as soon as possible.  The June 21st ad start dates should work for this division.   She was happy to hear about the health bullet point funding and asked me to email over the important bullet points.  The plan with this division will be to run all of the ads, they even ran two Rainier last season with a small crop.  They are going to run two digital front page coupon ads for the “other” funding.  She was also hoping some of her suppliers would have bins this season after coming off a low volume crop in 2022.

She mentioned last season  a hot ad feature was $2.99lb.  It’s interesting because a few years ago the ad price would be much lower.  The question now is what is the hot ad retail to run with cherries.  What is the new norm.
