I had a very nice meeting with Jeff Duggan.  He felt that they sold about the same amount of cases this year as last, but their dollar sales of cherries we down. He mentioned the low pricing of competition for the sales loss as they had to "give them away".  The vast amount of stores are in markets that Kroger and Meijer are active and they must stay competitive with them. He did say that he was extremely pleased that there were no quality issues and that made for a smooth season.We discussed the areas that they service and the particular need they have. This week they started using Canadian cherries as their N/W supplies ended.  We discussed using Wash. St. stone fruit but with freight and now a good crop of Mich. fruit, it made seance  to use it. They also had a late deal of Calif. that they use.
