Met with Lenny about cherry promotions. Lenny is a good supporter and likes to promote cherries. He works primarily with Stemilt, but also works with DOMEX. He is planning at least 4-5 ads this year, and expects to do better than year did last year. He said he thought the sales were down some because he was off sick and not there to look after it the way it should be looked after. Lenny also plans for a couple of Rainier ads (2-3) as well. Right now, planning an ad for 6/12 and 6/26, and is still working on July. Market 32 format stores are being completed and they are happy with the results. The conversions and new builds are expensive, but they are getting the results they had counted on so the conversions will continue. I looked at the Market32 store in Clifton Park and it was pretty impressive, with an enormous produce department.
