Had a great meeting with Scott Fisher today. He is very much in tune with all the happenings with cherries both California and Northwest. He told me he had to scrap one ad with California as weather there wrecked havoc on his plans. He said he did not have it in stone, but had penciled in a lot of ads both features, subfeatures and back to back ads. He also said he planned also on running at least 2 Ranier ads in July right around national ranier day on July 11th. When I asked how the merger was going on with Ahold he said that it was a little too early to tell as the actual merger was not to take place until July, and then it would probably take a year to sort things out how it will be laid out. But he did say that because things had been going so well for Food Lion with increased market shares in several markets including Charlotte, that he could see them doing very little to a wheel that was not broken. Food Lion has 1100 stores and 8 warehouses. 6 warehouses services the Food Lion stores and 2 warehouses service the Hanaford stores. Great call and feel we will really be getting great support from Food Lion
