I presented the new stone fruit program and we discussed the summer season, new varieties, customer preferances and overall trends. I offered POP but with their in house sign program, none would be usable but they might consider having the commission work with the sign dept. They will get back to us if that is nessessary.

Internal note

I met with Mark Carlson for an hour talking about their buying and presentation techniques. They use a lot of Wash. stone fruit but, I think relationships with Calif. present a blend of both fruit being used in late August. They watch for deteriation of Cal. fruit and then go exclusively with Wash. By that time (Sept) the Apple season is looming and the dept.s are getting reset.I explained that living a bit south of their offices and in a strong part of their marketing area, Summer is still going well into early Oct. and maybe they should look at doing resets later. In the areas of Ind.& Ohio Mkts
they might pick up a lot of stonefruit sales that get lost when the fruit positions change.
