Visited with  Rick Rodriguez at his office in Manhattan.  Also participating was John Vasapoli, who was not in the office, but sat in on the phone. Updated them on the upcoming timing and size of this year‘s cherry crop. Rick said that they like to build nice displays of cherries, and give them as much space as they can given  size of these smaller footprint “in town” stores. They plan circular promotions for both banners throughout the season. Had reduced Gristedes offering a  this year, and Rick was disappointed to hear but understood, and said he hoped that it will go back to the  that was next year.
