Account Call
Met with Tim Trenblay and Courtney Brubach in the office, with Tim Nadeau connected electronically. I breifed them on the expected 2026 crop, and the promotion we were offering. They said that cherries are an important commodity to Hannaford and they plan to promote them almost every week. They also plan to continue with their of building and maintaining large entrance displays to take advantage of impulse purchases. We did talk about the continuing decline of circulars, typically being replaced with Digital promoting. I suggested to them that if they felt that the $5000 that we offer could be spent in a better way that we would be willing to discuss it. They mentioned a program called “My Hannaford Rewards” which provides electronic coupons to their customers on the Hannaford app. I told them that we felt it was difficult to do coupons because of the open ended aspect, but they said that with “My Rewards Program” they can shut the program down after a certain dollar amount redemption, so they could limit it to $5000, which was the minimum for participation. I told them that I felt we would be willing to move the $5000 from circulars to this program if they felt that was a more productive spend. They said they would think that over, and perhaps we could talk about it for next year. I do expect good participation from Hannaford this year.
Tim will analyze the POS needs and let me know.
