Met with Joe Battaglia, John Pfeifer and George DiStefano at the Western Beef office in Brooklyn. Updated them on our expectation for both the California crop and the Northwest crop, and presented them with their Intent for this year. Reminded them of the bonuses connected to adding a tagline in their ads, mentioning the health benefits of cherries and also suggesting “by now freeze now” and mentioning National Rainier Cherry Day. In the past, Western Beef has not been an efficient user of point of sale material, but they now have merchandisers in the store who are well placed to ensure efficient use of POS.  Showed them The POS that we have and suggested that the proper use of the POS, as well as large entrance displays could help them with their marketing.
