Talked to Stater Bros. Buyer on July 9^th:

Theyran an $3.99lb Northwest Rainier ad on July 8^th.  He is a little worried the last few days of the ad.  Right now  his suppliers are working very hard to get Stater the rainier cherries.  He is averaging about 80% fulfillment on orders which is pretty good.  He realizes Mother Nature has been tough this season.  I had received a call from their marketing a few days prior to the ad on whether they would be receiving more rainier cherries.  Stater had a nice NW Rainier facebook post in early July.  I let her know the situation on the current rainier season and then they broke the $3.99lb ad a few days later. 

Rainier has been one of those items that has been hard to find in the US this season,  it’s an luxury item and hard to find, but customers continue to track these cherries down all over the country.
