I met with John Cunningham. We discussed this years N/W Cherry season which he felt was very good for Indy Fruit . He said the quality of fruit was outstanding and customer credits were almost non-existent.  He was concerned through out the season that the product looked so dark that it might be weak or breaking down, but it was very good. He did switch his cherry buyer this year and felt the new person might have done a better job then his past buyer. Needless to say, it was a good season for them and although he didn't have any sales comparisons as of yet. He did very well with Rainiers  although he would have liked the season to go longer. He mentioned that they cleaned up all inventory so they didn't have shrink at the end of the season. He did feel the grape sales just took over the end of the season. They did advertise Wash.St. apricots and stone fruit, but he said his customers have asked for Calif. fruit as it held up longer at retail. He has explained that the Wash. fruit was true tree ripe, but they were afraid of the shrink.
