I met with Richard Kellogg on Friday 4/20.  We had a great meeting and Dick is ready to start promoting  NW cherries.  He did a great job last year and is more than eager to shoot for at least a 10% increase in volume this season.  They have changed the name of the organization to Lowes Foods LLC.  Corporate address is still the same.  He realizes the importance of NW cherries and knows the impact the NW Cherry season has on his produce departments.  We met for almost an hour.  He commented also on the Eastern peaches now in his stores, as I had never seen Eastern peaches in the retailers this early in the season.  He told me they were from Florida, and they had never tried them before.  Peaches were under the Titan label which is a big grower from SC and they also are tied in to some Florida growers.  Dick told me that although the peaches were very small, to not be deceived by the size.  They were tree ripened and the short distance they had to travel made them a hit with the customers as they were just super sweet.  Lowes Foods LLC is going to do us a great job this year.
