Spoke with Blake Parker at Mitchell's on Thursday.  He was very receptive of the upcoming cherry crop outlook.  As everyone else he is struggling with several various produce items so far this season.  He hopes that cherries can be a bright spot in his departments.  He felt that stores have done a poor job in the past year or so of supporting cherries like they should as many of his stores are independents.  They are more shrink controllers than trying to get the extra sales that can be created by cherries in prominent locations in the department or even proper space allocations.  Felt like message got across and left him with some good ideas about what may turn his 2017 season around by promoting and advertising cherries more frequently.
