I went to 2 Food Lions in town this morning. 1 store was completely out of NW Cherries and waiting on a truck. The other store got a delivery the day before, but produce manager made comment that he had been out all weekend and did not get any Cherries until Tuesday. Both dark sweet and Rainier cherries were in the ad at $3.99 lb. Cherries that were on display looked great, but space had been cut back from week before. Mexican grapes both red & white seedless were in the ad at $1.99 lb. Quality left a lot to be desired as size was very small. Store also had California peaches and nectarines in the ad at $1.49 lb. They were both very nice, good color and size, however the store also had SC peaches that were just as nice and only priced at 99 cents per lb. There was a big space for strawberries, however neither store had any. There was a large display of athena cantaloupes priced at $1.79 each and stores had 3-4 bins of seedless watermelons priced at $2.49 each. I feel that the watermelons were a carry over from last week's July 4th ad as they were the same price. Apricots were displayed with the California stone fruit and the store had a nice display of blueberries beside where the strawberries should have been.
