Harris Teeter ads, had more items devoted to Produce items than any other store I have seen this week. There were 4 items (features) on the front page, and half of the back page was devoted to produce items. Store had both dark red and rainier cherries from California on the back side of the front table. Both items looked fantastic. Rainiers were priced at $3.00 more per lb than the red cherries. Reds were $3.99 lb and Rainiers were $6.99 lb. Blueberries from NC and GA were on the front page ad and displayed on a table as you enter the department, as well as on the backside of the front table. Strawberries from California was display up front as well and priced competitively at 2/$6.00. South Carolina peaches as in other stores had a prominent place on the 2nd table in the middle of the department and while quality and color was excellent, size was small. On the same table was nectarines, plums, and apricots from California which were all very nice with high color and size. Grapes were from Chili were large to medium size with the white seedless being priced at $3.79 lb which was 80 cents more per lb than the red seedless. Big push item here as well as in many Southeastern stores were Jumbo Athena Cantaloupes at 2/$6.00. They had an entire end cap devoted to them, and they were selling!
