Northwest Cherries in Harris Teeter had the best quality and freshest looking product in all stores I visited this week. Fruit was large and firm with bright green stems. Displayed in 2 locations in the department and priced at $2.99 lb. They were not in the ad, but could have been at this price when compared to other retailers. Biggest item in ad and produce display was red seedless grapes priced at 99 cent per lb. This was by far the cheapest price on red seedless grapes that I have seen this year. One catch--the grapes were on the small size. The store had much nicer and larger green seedless grapes, but they were $2.49 Lb. Store also had large display of eastern peaches with good quality and size. The eastern peaches were priced at $1.79 lb. This store also had California peaches that were in ad at $2.49 lb. Quality was somewhat better than the eastern peaches, but not by much. The California peaches and the eastern peaches appeared to be selling around the same rate. Store also had very nice blueberries with a big space in the ad at 2 pints for $4.00. These were from Canada, and marked the 3rd store that I had seen Canadian blueberries in.
