NW cherries were limited to 1 row because of lack of availability.  This store had no Rainier cherries.  The Cherries on display were excellent quality, great color and size.  This store was really pushing 10-12# watermelons.  Though small, they were only priced at $1.98 each and they had an enormous display of them that consisted of 5-6 bins and stacked high.  They were also promoting SC peaches heavily as well.  Priced at $1.69 lb, color size, and quality were 2nd to none.   This store had stone fruit from California that consisted of peaches, apricots, nectarines, and plums.  All of the California stone fruit was small but color was good.  Strawberries from California were displayed with blueberries from North Carolina on the back side of the 1st table.    Red & White seedless grapes were priced the same at $3.89 lb, which was higher than most of Lowes competition.  On this visit, this was the 2nd time I noticed, that there was not a particular section in the flyer/mailer that was devoted to produce.  The produce items, regardless of what they were, were scattered throughout the 12 page flyer.  Produce items (1) were on the front page, 2nd page (1), 3rd page (1), 5th page (3), and 8th page (2).  The items would be tied in to relatable items  such as fresh limes with tonic water and drink mixes, onions & potatoes with meat and cooking supplies, peaches and berries, with yogurt and smoothie supplies.  I plan on asking the produce director how this is working for them.  They have a new Produce director that just came on at the first of the year.
